Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk and alternative rock, but it also has influences of jazz and hip-hop. Ani diFranco was among the first musician to start her own record company in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born on the 23rd September 1970 in New York City, York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who met Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent and her mother hails from Montreal.
