The forceps used in his birth caused damage to a facial nerve leaving him with an eyelid that was droopy and a speech impairment. Stallone was just five years old when he returned with his family back to Maryland in the United States, where he spent most of his childhood in boarding schools. After his divorce from his parents in 1957, Stallone initially lived with his father. However, he moved to Philadelphia at 15 years old to stay with his newly married mother. Due to his past of being expelled from school He attended a private school for teens who were troubled.
